  3. The Three R’s of Money Reality Money Handling Skill #1 Unless you hit the lottery, you will always have limited amounts of time and money to use. Responsibility Money Handling Skill # 2 Handle money wisely and you can do a lot of good for yourself and others. If you don’t it’s your own fault if you blow the dough.

  4. The Three R’s of Money Restraint Money Handling Skill #3 Use self-control to deny self-gratification, or getting what you want now, to save for future goals. Ask your accountability partner to spot check your progress Show them your goals and check with them on the schedule you established You don’t have to “do life” alone!

  5. Monitor and Modify the Plan Keep an eye on your plan and keep it flexible Unexpected bills are a part of life—a new tire, a doctor bill, your sink flooding That’s life! • When you complete a goal, cross it off your list • Over time, your goals change—that’s OK! • Work with a partner in class to discuss and answer these questions: • Are your existing goals still worth doing” • Is there a new goal to add to your list? • Is there an existing goal you want to drop or change?

  6. Your Roadmap Money is just a means to an end. Make it work for you. Your Personal Financial Roadmap

  7. Portfolio Place the items you created in Unit 1 of your Portfolio. Your Portfolio is now complete for Unit 1, but be prepared to revisit it. Keep in touch with your accountability partner.
