  1. Heater model • Objective: • Better model of MB magnets and heaters in ROXIE. Based on previous simulations the current ‘sunglasses’ approach is not safe in case of a symmetric quench at nominal current. More accurate estimations of maximum allowable thresholds are needed. • Steps: • QP3 validation with SM18/Block 4 data • Validation of quench propagations speed in reduced ROXIE model • Validation of full ROXIE model with SM18/Block 4 data • Adding and validating a more accurate heater model in ROXIE Daniel Egede Rasmussen TE-MPE-PE

  2. Low current thresholds • Objective: • The tune feedback requires rapid changes to the current in the RQTD/F circuits. The derivative calculation in the QPS is very sensitive to these changes and the I<100 A threshold had to be raised to avoid false triggering. For post LS1 operation an increased threshold is needed beyond 100. • Steps: • QP3 simulations to establish maximum threshold for busbar protection <150 A • ROXIE simulation of each 600 A circuit type at the extremity of the threshold space.
