  2. Tabla Tabla is a pair of drums, the dayan and the slightly larger one, the bayan. The dayan is mostly always made from wood, and the bayan may be made from alluminium, iron, copper, steel or clay. The black spot on each of their surfaces is to create a specific bell-like timbre. The bayan is played with the heel of the left hand, and the dayan isplayed with the fingertips of the right hand.
