On 02.09.2009: Presentation of the project to MP3 • On 22.09.2009: Green light to perform our first tests on Q7 to Q10 in L2. • On 02.10.2009: First valid measurements on Q7 to Q10 in L2. • Preliminary results… We are in business! • Infrastructure problem: VDSL sockets… • Some conclusions. Busbars & splices measurements on IPQs ISRM Labview software (EN/ICE) Richard Mompo on behalf of the ELQA teamTE/MPE-EI
Problems reported on 22/09/2009 • Problems encountered during our first measurements (huge noise) were present because the PXI was not configured properly to use it at its full potential. • Adriaan Rijllart and DmitiyKudryavstev found the best parameters for our tests. • Use of maximum resolution (7.5 digits). • Low frequency. • Setting of a aperture time. • We didn’t change the hardware.
The « spikes » correspond to the inductive voltage duringramping.
Analyses done by Mateusz Bednarek Those calculations match perfectly with Excel fits! • First calculationsstill to bechecked:
Conclusions: • It looks like we are able to measure those splices with a sufficient accuracy. • We still need to check the precision of our measurements. • Re-measuring twice the same magnets could be interesting to check reproducibility. • The automatic analyses is not yet ready. • We will need to remove our system in L2. • Need of QPS for the “consignation/déconsignation”. • Is it needed to re-qualify something afterwards (for QPS)? • We could install 2 systems in the 3 remaining sectors that are not yet released by ELQA (S3-4, S6-7, S8-1) and leave them on stand-by for the powering tests. • Advantage: PC and QPS are still “consigné”.
Problem with infrastructure (Ex: in L2) VDSL socket placed at 3m high… Very convenient! Collimator underneath used as a foot step !!! VDSL sockets are located arbitrarily every 100m in the tunnel independently of the equipment on place!!!
