Collaboration Summary In the month of February, my mentor and I didn’t get a chance to meet up, but we did communicate with each other. Since I didn’t get to meet with her, I decided to try a few designs of my own. I’ve been working on a few nail designs on my free time. My mentor also sent me a picture of the design she wanted me to try. After I thought about how difficult it would be, I decided to try that design next month. If I wait until March, my mentor will be able to supervise and give advice.
What I Learned Although I didn’t get to collaborate with my mentor, I did learn how to do some nail art. For this month, I decided that I would try and create my own nail art because the French tip was too complicating to do on my own. Because the French tip was too difficult, I searched for ways to create designs in a more simple way. While searching the Internet, I came across a video showing people how to do gradient nails with a make-up sponge and flower designs with a toothpick. I learned that you don’t need the most advanced tools to create amazing designs.
Sparkly accent nail The nail art my mentor wanted me to try. A plain, solid, light pink polish Purple and white gradient nail A plain, solid, dark purple polish. My first nail art design. A common 5 petal flower design with extra dots for effects. A rose pattern created using a toothpick.
Next Month Goals In the month of March, I hope that my mentor and I will meet up to make up for the lost time from this month. I would also like to practice doing the French tip a little more. An addition to the French tip, I would like to get some tips on how to create a basic flower design. I will also continue to come up with some ideas for the nail designs. The last goal for next month is to buy some plastic nails so that I can get started on laying them out for the final presentation.
