Focus of the school • a school for every child => all-day schooling (flexible daily schedule/ fixed daily schedule) => emphasis on standard class structure ; two different course levels in some subjects • 7th grade: differenciation within the class => elective courses encourage later job qualifications => partnerships and collaborations with external partners 3

  4. Supportive measures • Additional language training in the class and in additional German language courses (DaZ) • The students are offered a weekly meeting to discuss different educational and social problems. In the 7th grade the students have the opportunity to deal with these issues every morning for 20 minutes. 4

  5. The school population1 The school population: • Approximately 500 students • 24 classes • Two classes with practical work experience (POL) 5

The school population 2 Information about the students: • Approximately 100% from families that speak another language primarily • Approximately 90% are on welfare • The majority of students is recommended for „Hauptschule“ (secondary school) • Barely any students are recommended for a grammar school education Happy and lively students, who want to receive praise and recognition. 6
