Canadian Supreme Court Rules Biblical Speech Opposing Homosexual Behavior is a ‘Hate Crime’ February 28, 2013, New Ottawa, Ontario – The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that Biblical speech opposing homosexual behavior, including in written form, is essentially a hate crime. On Wednesday, the court upheld the conviction of activist William Whatcott, who found himself in hot water after distributing flyers regarding the Bible’s prohibitions against homosexuality throughout the Saskatoon and Regina neighborhoods in 2001 and 2002. Whatcott has now been ordered to pay $7,500 to two homosexuals who took offense at his flyers, as well as to pay the legal fees of the Human Rights Commission — which could cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars.
While speech opposing homosexuality remains legal in the United States, some note that the nation is heading in the same direction as Canada, as discrimination laws are being enforced by state Human Rights Commissions across the country. A number of incidents have made headlines in recent years where American businesses have been punished for their refusal to accommodate the homosexual lifestyle, such as the story of a photographer in New Mexico that was forced to pay $700 in fines for declining to shoot a same-sex commitment service, to the Vermont bed and breakfast owners who settled a lawsuit with two lesbians who were told by an employee that they could not hold their commitment service on the property. A Kentucky t-shirt screening company was also recently punished for declining to complete a work order involving t-shirts that were to be worn at a local homosexual pride parade.
The New Modern Family? Woman and Two Men Raise Son in ‘Polyamorous’ Relationship February 25, 2013 Los Angeles, California – ABC News recently aired a segment about a woman involved in what is called a polyamorous relationship — living with multiple boyfriends or girlfriends under one roof. The woman, identified as Jaiya, began by living with her boyfriend Jon. However, because Jaiya wanted to have children and Jon didn’t, he suggested that she bring someone else into the picture that would conceive with her. Therefore, Jaiya brought home Ian, and the two had a little boy together. Both Ian and Jon are raising the child, and Jon quit his job to stay home with him. ABC notes that there are an estimated 500,000 polyamorous relationships in the nation. One viewer, named Anne, called the comments from other viewers who spoke against polyamory “hateful.”
What a difference a decade makes. Just consider the fact that, just 10 years ago, a vast majority of Americans opposed the legalization of same-sex marriage. Now we are told that a slim majority of Americans is ready to make same-sex marriage legal. Homosexuality is now at the center of American life, and the full normalization of homosexual relationships seems just around the corner. Albert Mohler.
“In terms of the cultural tide, evangelical Christians have every reason to feel left behind. Thoughtful evangelicals must realize the depth of our predicament”. • “Evangelicals cannot join the moral revolution on homosexuality, but it seems unlikely that we can stop it, either. The issue of homosexuality, by itself and in tandem with other moral issues, may well lead to the marginalization of evangelical Christians within the larger society”. • “This is going to be particularly difficult for America’s evangelical Christians. We are accustomed to standing within the political and cultural mainstream, comfortable in an America that shared much of our moral worldview. Those days are over”.
Evangelicals appear to be headed for some kind of marginalization, and this will hurt. Nevertheless, evangelical Christianity began on the margins of society and only in fairly recent decades moved into the mainstream. • Our task will be to bear witness to the truth, to tell the Good News about Jesus Christ, to be faithful in our marriages, to raise our children and to reach out to a world filled with people -- gay and straight -- who desperately need our message of God’s redeeming love.

Starting at the beginning:The Trinity is the source of gender distinctions
God’s relationship with Christ is that of Father and Son. • Father / Son are not simply generic names of Two members of the Godhead. • They are Character Filled Descriptions of: • What God is like • How and why God acts on our behalf. • How the members relate in terms of authority / submission. • How the Father cares for and nurtures the Son. • In the Sermon on the Mount, Christ refers to God 15xs as “Father”. • John 3:35 "The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. • John 14:13 "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. • John 17:1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, • 1 John 4:14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 "For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. 21 "For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 "For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 "that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. 24 " Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. 25 "Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 "For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, John 5:19-26
The Father guides the Son, as all father’s should, v. 19 • The Father loves deeply the Son, as all father’s should, v. 20 • The Father shares Himself with the Son, as all father’s should,... V. 20b • The Father leads His Son to give life, help others and take responsibility for the lives of those in His care, as all father’s should ... v. 21 • The Father leads His Son to accept and win authority, as all father’s should ...v. 22 • The Father transfers honor to His Son and shares His honor and name with His Son, as all father’s should • Yet beyond all these great activities and examples of God an more important issue is seen. Redemption is a fatherly activity. • It is a “manly” kind of rescuing those in need. • It is not motherly, however, great that would be. • To lose sight of the Fatherhood of God is to lose a proper understanding of the very nature of redemption. • It is to lose the Gospel.

Masculinity and thus authority are rooted in the Trinity • But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 1 Corinthians 11:3 • Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 1 Corinthians 15:24-25 • For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, Ephesians 3:14-15 (NKJ)
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, Ephesians 3:14-15 pa/sa patria. From whom every fatherhood in heaven and earth is named. New Jerusalem Bible
Taking the next step:Creation Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:26-27
Masculinity and therefore femininity are rooted in the Trinity. • To say that God is masculine is not to say that He is sexual. • Sexuality is an expression of either masculinity or femininity. • It is an outward metaphor of an inward reality. • Major implications: • Actions don’t determine gender. • Desires don’t determine gender. • Physical capabilities don’t determine gender. • Gender is not merely something you do. It is something you are. • You were assigned an identity when you were created. Ps. 139:13-17 • One only needs to destroy “fatherhood” to ruin it all.
What was the message of the social programs that came out of LBJ's Great Society? One of the most devastating to the family was that if an unwed woman became pregnant, moved out of the home of her parents, did not name or know who the father was, then Big Daddy in Washington would provide for all her essential needs. Ergo she no longer needed a husband or the support of her family. In fact, the more children she had out of wedlock, the more money she would receive from the government. This program was the death knell for many families, especially in the black community. Unfortunately many black men saw this as the best of all possible worlds. They could father as many children as they wanted, from multiple women, without ever having to accept the responsibility of fatherhood. Many women rejected marriage in favor of a boyfriend who could slip in the back door and not jeopardize her government check. In this dysfunctional culture why would education be important? Why seek an education only to have to compete for a good job in the market place when they could just hang around the neighborhood and have all of life's amenities? Thomas Sowell
At the heart of masculinity is a benevolent responsibility to lead, provide, inspire and protect those in your sphere of influence or realm of service given to you as a stewardship from God. • It is self sacrificial giving for others. • It is a willingness to bleed for those in your care.
At the heart of mature femininity is a freeing disposition to affirm, receive and nurture the strength and leadership from worthy men, in ways appropriate to a woman’s differing relationships. • Women are to submit only in appropriate relationships. • Even in leadership roles, women can function in godly ways. • As women inspire others, they gain honor before God. (cf. Pr. 31)
The Next Level:Total Gender Identity Destruction(What happens when we reject the Trinity) “Mircea Eliade, a respected expert in comparative religions, argues that androgyny as a religious universal or archetype appears virtually everywhere, and at all times, in the world’s religions. Much evidence exists to support his judgment” Peter Jones of Westminster Seminary in JETS Sept. 2000
Androgyny: The Pagan Sexual Ideal • It is the “end of the line” of Romans 1 • As societies cut themselves off from God, they sever the very cords of life that would protect them.
All attacks on gender are attacks on God. • Examples: • Homosexuality • Lesbianism • Metro-sexuality • Bi-sexuality • Transgenderism • Bestiality • Pansgenderism • Polyanderism • Polygamy (concurrent or successive) • Egalitarianism • Feminism
For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:23-32
Paul’s instructions in Eph. 5 are really about Christ’s relationship with the Church. • It is the ultimate reality. Marriage is the illustration. • Thus, gender destruction is a heinous attack on the Church.
