Service Users said… • About time • Does that mean I’ll only have to say it once? • So,can I choose who to talk to? • I just want to feel safe.
Service Providers said… • Not another initiative! • It’s a good idea but how will it work? • I’m already too busy. • We’re already doing it.
Next Steps • Briefings for Head Teachers and Service Managers. • Practitioner Days on a locality basis. • CAF training.
JATs….Joint Action Teams • Meet monthly • Accept requests for discussion and agree early actions • Are supported by Integrated Services Team, but chaired locally. • Use CAF as assessment tool. • Share information, skills and knowledge.
JAT Members Schools Youth Service Connexions Voluntary Sector Social Care Family Centres Childrens Centres Face it Health Extended Services Police YISP/YOT Inclusion Services EWS
Currently • There are 21 Families of Schools with JATs. • More than 600 practitioners have been trained in the use of the CAF. • By Spring 2010 all Families of Schools will have access to a JAT. • Test beds for co location are being trialled in Autumn 2008.
What’s working Well? • Commitment and enthusiasm of JAT members. • Growing numbers of C&YP brought for discussion. • A changing mindset. • Management support. • Growing awareness.
Challenges • Not all key services yet signed up. • Service reorganisation. • Evidencing that we are making a difference.
