  4. To find the mean it is important • to remember you want the average number of letters per day. • So need the total number of letters, • and total number of days.

  5. The total number of letters is given by 2 x 5 = 10 3 x 2 = 6 4 x 3 = 12 Total letters = 28

  6. and the total number of days is 2 x 5 = 10 3 x 2 = 6 4 x 3 = 12 days = 10 Total letters = 28
