  3. Objectives • Describe the asexual reproduction of bacteria • Describe the sexual reproduction of bacteria • Compare the DNA of a bacteria to that of a chloroplast and a mitochondrium Honors Biology 6a

Class Notes • Bacteria undergo reproduction mainly by binary fission (making 2 identical cells from 1), a form of cloning • To make different genetic variations of bacteria they mix DNA by conjugation, a form of sexual reporduction (2 bacteria fuze and mix their DNA, they depart both different) Honors Biology 6a
