  2. Definition of Play "Play involves a free choice activity that is non-literal, self-motivated, enjoyable and process oriented. Critical to this definition is the non-literal, non-realistic aspect. This means external aspects of time, use of materials, the environment, rules of the play activity, and roles of the participants are all made up by the children playing. They are based on the child's sense of reality" (wardle, 1987,p.27).

  3. "Children do not play for a reward-praise, money, or food. They play because they like it."(p.28). Lots of play at an early age enables children to develop the wide, integrated foundation required for future academic success. It also will develop in our children a love of learning, a love that is desperately needed by children who can look forward to a minimum of 13 years of formal education."

  4. Introduction of Cheng Limin • Chinese traditional game which was called ‘Caught You’ or ‘Cheng Limin’ • A child playing the game every spring and when they had good weather. • This game also suitable to play in the classroom.

  5. Method of the game • In this game, children need a large group of people about 20-30 people, a piece of close and a small ball. • Children were sat down, side by side in a large circle except for one person who was selected by teacher and sat outside the circle of student. • Teacher was a leader and referee.

  6. Children sat in the circle and one of them just sat a few feet away from the circle with his or her eyes blindfolded. • When everybody was ready, the teacher declare a start. • At the moment, children began to pass the small ball one by one around the circle and the one who sat alone could shout ‘Stop!’ at any time he or she ‘wished’.

  7. When children hear “Stop!”, one of the children who had the ball in his or her hand had to stand up and must do something depends on the leader. • The person outside the circle was replaced every five minutes.

  8. The benefit of Cheng Limin Games • Improve confident level of children. • Increase the communication skills of children. • Training the children hearing the instruction properly. • Encouraging the children to be honest. • The children could express their emotion • Improve the psychomotor skills for children.
