Description of the Characteristic of values and skills As social workers we serve as professionals to the profession, mission and values. Social workers also grow within their expertise in the different levels of their profession. Social Workers commit themselves to the profession’s enhancement and to their own professional conduct and growth. How it is used in the Agency We introduce our clients to who we are what we are there for. As a social worker it is our duty to serve clients in the best way possible. We find services and treatment for individuals with drug addictions. We identify to what level of service we can provide them, and if it is beyond our expertise, then we refer them to the appropriate professional. We may sometimes go beyond to make sure that our clients are served to the best extent. Always speak clearly and have open communication with clients. Show them that we care about their problems or individual needs or concerns.
General Information As social workers all core competency are important in the profession of social work. Core competency 1-identify as a professional social worker and conduct oneself accordingly . Most important competency of all because it stands for who we are and how we perceive our goals. Social workers commit themselves to the professions’ enhancement and to their own professional growth.
