  4. 2009-3 (Global Proposal): Allocation of IPv4 Blocks to RIRs Current ARIN Version of the Global Proposal RIRs may return IPv4 space to IANA (actual return policy to be determined by local RIR policy) New IANA to RIR IPv4 allocation policy Each RIR may request a predetermined 1/10th of the IANA free pool every 6 months

  5. 2009-5: IPv6 Multiple Discrete Networks Would allow IPv6 initial and subsequent requests for discrete networks /32s (ISPs) and /48s (End-users) and larger

  6. 2009-6 (Global Proposal): IANA Policy for Allocation of ASN Blocks to RIRs Allows, for one more year, the RIRs to continue to make separate requests for 16 and 32-bit ASNs (until 1 January 2011)

  7. 2009-7: Open Access To IPv6 Removes two parts of ISP IPv6 initial allocation criteria: Routing requirement to “advertise the single aggregate allocation” Requirement to “be a known ISP in the ARIN region or have a plan to make 200 assignments in 5 years"

  8. 2009-8: Equitable IPv4 Run-Out Slows distribution of IPv4 space Changes policy for ISPs who have been ARIN members for more than one year (these ISPs can currently request a 12-month supply of address space): When IANA depletes to 20 /8s, ISPs can request a 6-month supply of address space When IANA hits 10 /8s, supply period is reduced to 3 months And, when ARIN gets its last /8, the maximum prefix size for all requests would be 1/4th of ARIN’s free pool (rounded down to nearest CIDR prefix)
