CBG is a wonderful substitute to CNG (Compresses Natural Gas). As of now the total fuel consumption of natural gas in India is approximately 140 MMSCMD which is twice the production of the domestic CNG production. The remainder is being imported which is a burden on the nation right now. Compressed Bio-gas (CBG) is being seen as a potential alternative to CNG as India looks forward to becoming a gas based economy.
