Motivate students to acquire rudimentary literacy and numeracy to understand the scope of current issues related to energy and the environment through introduction of basic energy terminology, units, and conversion concepts; discussion of environmental consequences of energy generation for the present and the future for responsible citizenship and stewardship. Learning Portfolios -Impressions • Preparing on-line learning portfolios • makes students relate to and reflect on the course content in a personal manner; • motivates them to learn how to create on-line documents and web pages with hyperlinks - a “new” medium of communication; • creates a document to share with peers, family, friends, and prospective employers.
