  3. Create a Database Determine Risks Based on Total Awards • USASpending.gov: • Prime contracts and subprimes • By place of performance

Scrub the Data • Need to correct when nonDoD agencies procure what ends up in DoD • Time over which contract is performed • Subprime awards • Need to be associated with the correct county (place of performance) • Need to be checked for the correct NAICS code • Surveys are used • To add subprime awards not in USASpending database • To improve the multipliers

Applying Procurement Impact Model Information • Identify firms for business retention and expansion program outreach • Think about potential occupation impacts • Workforce: transition skills • Mitigation strategies….minimize loss • Marketing opportunity….maximize firm attraction • Start ups/entrepreneurship • Increase industry diversity
