  3. September 7, 2011 Day 5“My Life as a Movie Extra”Word Choice • Record the first sentence of the narrative on your warm-up page. • Describe that first sentence using vivid modifiers. Try to come up with at least two. • I would say the first sentence is bland and unexciting. • Rewrite that bland sentence so it is more vivid.

After completing Holt Online Essay Scoring: • Use the Language text to review punctuation rules for the comma, semi-colon, colon, and period (endmarks). • Record notes for each punctuation mark on the organizer. • Find two sentences from your narrative that you believe you could combine into one good sentence using commas or a semi-colon. • Record those sentences on the back of the organizer. • Combine the two sentences on the back of the organizer.
