Phoebe Prince was a 15 year old girl from Massachusetts who was raised in Ireland. She was a victim of endless bullying.
On January 14th, 2010, she committed suicide because she couldn’t take anymore.
There were 6 teenagers who were involved with the bullying. 4 of 6 were sent to jail because of violation of civil rights and statutory rape. They thought they were being harmless.
Michigan is the 48th state to make an anti-bullying law. Kevin Epling of East Lansing, who made an anti-bullying law in Michigan his crusade after his son's suicide in 2002, said, “The bill is a firm foundation for the start of anti-bullying programs in schools.”
An bullying law is the first step to succeeding in a way to stop bullying forever. There are more things you can do.
