CENTRAL PROCESSING TECHNICIAN (CPT) • Scope of Practice • Specializes in stocking, sterilizing, and preparing tools and equipment for surgical procedures. • Inspect & maintains inventory of tools and supplies • Educational requirements • Training program at a Community College or Vocational School • Some states require certification. • National Hourly Salary Range • $11.00-$19.00
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) • Scope of Practice • Perform most routine nursing duties under the direction of a register nurse, however, all initial assessments must be done by the RN. • Direct patient care including wound care and the dispensing of medication orally and those given “non-push” by intravenous. • Most licensed practical nurses work in nursing homes, health care institutions, & private homes, Some work in doctors' offices, or clinics.

CLINICAL NURSE SPECILAIST (CNS) • Scope of Practice • Clinical nurse specialists are Advance Practice Nurse who • provides care in specialty areas; such as cardiac, oncology, pediatrics, and psychiatric/mental health. • They work in hospitals and clinics, providing medical care and mental health services, developing quality assurance procedures, and serving as educators and consultants. • Educational requirements • Clinical Nurse Specialist are required to have a Masters Degree • National Hourly Salary Range • $29.26 - $62.08
NURSE ANESTHETIST (CRNA) • Scope of Practice • Administer anesthesia services in the operating rooms in hospitals, surgical centers, doctors or dentist offices • Educational requirements • Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program • Pass a certification exam to call yourself a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) Maintain re-certification • National Hourly Salary Range • $47.09 - $101.07
