Instructions • Copy the Following into the NOTES section of your folder.
TIME • Time: When was the cartoon created or what period of time is it talking about? What else was happening in the world?
ACTION • What is going on in the cartoon? Are people asleep, marching, laughing, fighting? What is going on in the background?
CAPTION • What does the cartoon label say? Does it support the action in the cartoon or is it critical? What is the cartoonist’s point of view?
OBJECTS • What familiar people or objects do you recognize? Are any exaggerated in size or action? How can you find out about the objects/people you don’t recognize?
SUMMARY • Based on the action, caption, and objects, what was the author trying to say?
