1. Marawara District Center 20 JAN 13 • Summary of the Events: • The PRT, USAID, and USDA representatives met with Mohammad Dula (Marawara DEA) and his staff which included Alam Gull (District Animal Husbandry Manager) to provide training aids and discuss livestock and canal projects within the District. • The USDA representative compiled a CD with different manuals ranging from fruit and vegetable production to indentifying livestock diseases. The USDA representative brought a laptop and explained a few of the manuals on the disk before handing it over to the DEA. • Alam Gull expressed the need for vaccinations and veterinary services in Marawara. He also asked the PRT for help with lobbying the DAIL on his behalf. • The ODA has expressed their desire to help with livestock training in Marawara and Alam Gull said he would write up a training proposal to present to the ODA the next time they are at the Marawara District Center. • The PRT and DEA discussed the proper channels to get funding to repair for the canal that is supplied by a karez which was destroyed a year ago.
