Initial considerations Hotel linen laundry Hospital linen laundry
Input Information a) Number of rooms or beds b) Kg to be processed c) List of equipment
Input Information a) Number of rooms (Hotel) Linen ratio per bedspaces Weight of dirty linen per person & day Double room Type of Hotel (holidays, business, ..) Hotel category Restaurants, convention rooms,.. Swimming pool, spa,..
Input Information a) Number of beds (Hospital) Linen ratio per bedspaces Weight of dirty linen per person & day Type of Hospital Nº of operating rooms Nº of employees
Output per hour calculation a) Number of beds No. rooms x 2 x Ratio = Kg /day Kg /day x 7 days / week hours = Kg / h Consider occupancy ratio?
Output per hour calculation b) Kg to be processed (per work-shift) Kg to be processed / hours per shift = Kg / h
Output per hour calculation c) List of equipment Wash capacity in Kg = Kg / h production To consider the wash program duration
Output per hour calculation c) List of equipment To check that the dryers and the flatwork ironer are agreement with the wash capacity
Output per hour calculation Example with 100 kg/h production Touristic Hotel To Wash 100 % 100 Kg/h To Dry 50 % 50 Kg/h To Iron 50 % 50 Kg/h Form 0 %
Output per hour calculation Example with 500 kg/h production Hospital To Wash 100 % 500 Kg/h To Dry 30 % 150 Kg/h To Iron 70 % 350 Kg/h Form * 15 % 75 Kg/h *It is necessary to dry the clothes of form
Type of laundry Considering the production : Less of 500 Kg/h Washer extractor More of 500 Kg/h Bathch Washer
Example A : 5 stars hotel Starting data: 2,000 rooms Exhibition center Spa, Gym & Wellness center 60% average occupancy 50 h/week Urban hotel Steam Cold water. Hot water not possible.
Example A: 5 stars hotel Calculation of full occupancy needs: 2,000 rooms x 3 kg = 6,000 kg/day Calculation of average occupancy: 6,000 kg/day x 0.6 = 3,600kg/day Linen to be treated per week: 3,600kg/day x 7 days = 25,200 kg/week Linen to be treated per hour: 25,200kg/week / 40h/week = 630 kg/h DECISION: BATCH WASHER
Example A : 5 stars hotel 630kg/h Batch washer selection: 630kg/h / 50kg/load = 12.6 ≈ 13 loads hour 60min = 3,600 s 3,600 s / 13 loads = 280 s Washing cycle: HOTEL pe: 30min = 1,800 s 1,800 s / 280 s per room = 6.42 ≈ 7 modules Cycle time = 280sec = 4:40 min
Example A : 5 stars hotel 630kg/h Drying and ironing selection Hotel with SPA: 50% flatwork, 50% towel 630kg/h x 0.5 = 315 kg/h drying Drying ST-100 = 200kg/h capacity (2 complete cycles) And, also, a dryer to untangle flat linen is required. Then: 3 ST-100 (2+1)
Example A : 5 stars hotel 630 kg/h Drying and ironing selection Hotel with SPA: 50% flatwork, 50% towel 630kg/h x 0.5 = 315 kg/h ironing Ironing 315kg/h x 50% residual humidity on linen = 158kg/h (EVAP) EVAPORATION =158 l water/h / 65% machine use THEORETICAL EVAPORATION CAPACITY OF MACHINE= 242 l 1- PSN-8033-2
