International Z39.50 Profile for Searching Virtual Catalogues

This presentation by Barbara Shuh discusses the need for an international agreement on various aspects of Z39.50 searching, such as search indexes, search attributes, semantics for keyword searching, holding information, and configuration attributes. The goal is to complete the development of the profile by December 1999 and to include basic bibliographic functions, cross-domain searching, GRS implementation, and searching holdings of museums and archives.
