OTHER EXAMPLES: Technological SILICON VALLEY An area in N. California where many technological companies have set up headquarters.
RELIGIOUS The Bible Belt: • An area in the USA with a strong belief in Protestantism
POLITICAL • USA POLTICAL MAP: Red and Blue States
SOCIAL • Cheesehead Region Raider Nation

LOCATION: This theme asks “”where is it?” and can be defined in two ways: 1)Absolute location and 2)Relative Location
Absolute Location deals with exact location using latitude and longitude lines
LATITUDE/LONGITUDE REVIEW • Latitude = Horizontal Lines, Measures 0-90 N and 0-90 S, Parallel, Always written first, Equator, Tropic Lines, Artic and Antarctic Circles • Longitude= Vertical Lines, Measures 0-180 E and 0-180 W, Meet at the Poles, Always written second, Prime Meridian
