Karl Marx 1818-1883 • Karl Marx is the founder of communism. In the 1900’s his idea of communism influenced many countries. The economic fields, economics, history, and political science were infected with this idea.Some countries thought this was a genius idea. Karl Marx considered this Marxism.
Josef Stalin • He was a soviet politician and dictator. He was a disciple of Vladimir Lenin. When he had enough power he executed or jailed those who helped get all of his power. He thought they threatened his ruling. He was responsible for millions of soviet peasants.
Leon Trotsky • Leon Trotsky was born in 1879. Later in his life he became the leader of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. After 2 years of revolutionary activity as a social activity, he was arrested in 1898. he escaped from the Siberian exile 4 years after he was evicted. He then went to London. The next year he returned to Russia to take over the revolution again.
Alexander Kerensky • Alexander Kerensky was born in 1881. he became the leader of the Russia revolution in 1917. After the revolution that overthrew the czar, Kerensky became the only socialist member of the first provincial government. He died on June 11, 1970.
Vladimir Lenin • Vladimir Lenin was born in 1870. He founded the communist party in Russia. He set up the world’s first communist dictatorship. He led the October Revolution in 1917. This act gave all the communists power. He ruled the country until his death in 1924.
The Pravda was the official newspaper of the communist party. It was established in 1912. They stopped being printed when the communist lost all power. Josef Stalin worked at the headquarters of the newspaper for a little while. The Pravda
The KGB • The KGB was a government agency until 1991. A secret police was operated inside of it to keep the communist government in Russia. They provided body guards at the border line. They performed many secret missions to aid the government.
