  1. To insert other ready-formatted pages: go to the insert menu/slides from files/ select ‘presentation inserts.ppt’ Click the display button, then click the button on the right (marked with red below). Click on the slide(s) to insert then insert and close. Do not re-size text boxes as they are measured to fit paper with pre-printed Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer design. The red lines indicate absolute top and bottom. If you accidentally change the text boxes, go to ‘format/slide layout’ and choose the top left hand corner slide called ‘title slide’ and click ‘re-apply’. LỰA CHỌN CHƯƠNG TRÌNH HỌC • JD: Juris Doctor Học 3 năm, bằng cử nhân không cần là chuyên ngành luật, thi LSAT • LL.M: Legum Magister Học 1 năm, bằng cử nhân phải là chuyên ngành luật, không cần thi LSAT • SJD: Scientiae Juridicae Doctor Tương đương với tiến sỹ trong các ngành học khác. Thời gian nghiên cứu tuỳ theo cá nhân, thông thường là 2-4 năm. Không cần thi LSAT.  Tất cả các chương trình luật ở Mỹ đều yêu cầu có bằng cử nhân (BA hoặc BS).

  3. CHUẨN BỊ TRƯỚC KHI ĐI HỌC • Chuẩn bị bảng điểm, chuyển đổi sang hệ GPA của Mỹ; dịch và công chứng sổ điểm và học bạ ở ĐH tại VN. • Xem xét các yêu cầu đầu vào của các trường, điền vào mẫu đơn xin học, viết bài theo yêu cầu của trường (“personal statement” hoặc “application essay”), và thư giới thiệu. • Chuẩn bị thi TOEFL. 600điểm khi thi trên giấy; 250 khi thi trên máy tính, và 100 khi thi trên internet. • Thi LSAT cho chương trình JD.

  4. MỤC TIÊU SAU KHI RA TRƯỜNG VÀ CHUẨN BỊ CẦN THIẾT • Về Việt Nam làm việc ngay? Không cần chuẩn bị gì cả. • Làm việc và định cư tại Mỹ? Cần thi vào Đoàn luật sư, xin visa làm việc, mua nhà, xe, v.v. • Làm việc tại Mỹ hoặc nước ngoài một thời gian rồi về Việt Nam? Cần thi vào Đoàn luật sư, xin visa làm việc, cần học và làm việc trong những chuyên ngành có thể chuyển đổi về Việt Nam dễ dàng (luật công ty, luật đầu tư, luật ngân hàng, tài chính, xây dựng hạ tầng, v.v.)
