Gifted & Talented Washington, DC Tour 2011: Parent Reflectionby Tawanna Robertson I attended this field trip with my son, Jacob Robertson, his Challenge Program Teacher-Dr. Donerlson, three parent chaperones, and 13 other fellow Parkside Challenge students in grades 1-5. This was a phenomenal educational experience. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the deep history of the birth of our country as well as other fascinating events. We were able to visit the National Archives to view the Three Documents of Freedom for our country, several of the national memorials and monuments in Washington, the National Air & Space Museum, the National Museum of African Art, and the National History Museum, just to name a few. My most memorable experience was the visit to Arlington National Cemetery where we witnessed the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I am extremely humbled by my experience and am thankful that I was a part of such a momentous occasion.
