  4. The Keynote of the First World Kidney Day was “Early Detection and Prevention” The authorities are worried about; Chronic kidney diseases and vascular diseases will kill 36 million people by the year 2015.

WORLD KIDNEY DAY • To increase awareness of chronic kidney disease and its associated cardiovascular morbidity and mortality • To draw attention to the urgent global need for early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease. • To celebrate World Kidney on the second Thursday in March each year. • It is launched on Thursday, March 9, 2006 • It will be fully inaugurated on Thursday, March 8, 2007.

World Kidney Day’s (WKD) Principal Focus; • To raise awareness of much more people. • To raise awareness of primary healthcare professionals about both the role of the kidney as a risk marker in related chronic diseases and the pressing need for early detection of any form of kidney impairment.

On the Other Hand • Screening and management of chronic renal disease which becomes increasingly common. • In a holy purpose they aimed to prevent Renal Diseases which threat to public health and health budgets worldwide • And to promote all efforts in this concept. • This holy purpose is celebration of World Kidney Day.

EARLY DETECTION • To detect the people who are in high hazard. • Particularly 50 years old people. • The patients who have diabetes story in their families. • To detect patients individually who suffer hypertension. • To diagnose by performing systematic analysis. World Kidney Day: • Emphasizes the role of the kidney. • And the importance of urine testing.. • Emphasis will be placed on monitoring of kidney diseases, the efficacy of methods for slowing or preventing the progression of kidney disease; the effective measures available to treat kidney diseases. • The World Kidney Day specifically target general physicians and primary healthcare providers with a view to raising their awareness of need for early intervention to prevent progression to chronic kidney diseases.)

The primary purposes of these days are to bring the specific disease to the forefront as an issue for personal/family health • And to provide information about early symptoms and the simple clinical and laboratory tests available for diagnosis. • Main Goals; • Media attention, interviews with affected patients, community awareness programs, and professional education efforts all create awareness that affect public attitudes and behaviors toward prevention and early treatment of the specific disease being profiled.

  14. The World Kidney Day reminds people that chronic renal disease leads progressions of other chronic diseases.. • For instance; Chronic Renal Disease increases the risk of Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke.
