Domain & range • Domain – the set of all possible values that can be assigned to the independent variable in a function – your x value • Range – the set of all possible values of the dependent variable in a function – your y value Ex: (8,9), (-7,12), (0,5), (6,3) domain – {8, -7, 0, 6} or D: {-7 < x < 8} range – {9, 12, 5, 3} or R: {3 < y < 12}
