  2. Objectives of this meeting • Greetings from the Dean of FAHS • Everybody meet • General info • Answer Questions • Make groups to share hotel rooms to book asap • Discuss topics for oral presentation and reflection paper

Is everybody ready? • Registration • Website (later we will have webct) http://home.cogeco.ca/%7Eivanrosenbreyer/index.html • Bursaries • Passports? • Costs • Plane ticket • Total CAN $ 925 (travel agent Service charge apply) • Deposit 100 Paid already (Non-refundable) • Rest $ 825 due on Friday June 11 to us (AA June 23). Make cheque to Brock and bring it to Fern • Rest • Hotel and shared costs due date TBA

International Plus This course is recognized as part of International Plus • Students participating in the trip to Honduras will receive the following credit towards their International Plus certificate: • International Workshops: • Pre-departure conference facilitated by John Kaethler (includes The Art of Crossing Cultures and Assessing your International IQ) • The Global Health Chart and Dollar Street facilitated by Ana Sanchez and Rob Hawes • WHO Millennium Development Goals facilitated by Rob Hawes • Introduction to Honduras: Culture, Health and Society facilitated by Ana Sanchez • Career Services workshops: • Kabir Abdurrahman and Ildi Murray will deliver a workshop designed for CHSC 3F97 students. This workshop will incorporate resume writing, cover letter writing, job search skills, interview skills, and portfolio development • This workshop will be delivered on Friday July 30 from 9am – 12pm • Volunteer hours: • Students will receive 3 hours volunteer credit for their participation in giving a talk about Brock University to students and faculty at a Honduras university • Note: Students will be required to complete 47 additional volunteer hours to satisfy the requirements of International Plus

  7. Changes in Field Program • Program has been adjusted to include more time in area hospitals; a visit to a cloud forest reserve • Social program (evenings) is being developed by Honduran students • New program will be available in the website shortly
