Organization of a Sonnet • A sonnet consists of 14 lines. • Each of the 14 lines have ten syllables. • Each line is written in iambic pentameter. • A iambic pentameter is a pattern of a non-emphasized syllable followed by an emphasized syllable is repeated five times.
