You need to get the variable on one side of the = sign and the numbers on the other side of the = sign. Use the inverse operation on both sides of the equation. Ex: 42 + n = 78-42+ n = -42 0 363. Get a solution and check your answer. Ex: n = 36 Check: 17 + 36 + 25 = 78 78 = 78
