  2. Parents as Teachers Background • Happy Birthday - 25th Anniversary! • 12 Parent Educators • 153 years of combined PAT service • Average Parent Educator has 12.75 years of service

Service Delivery Model • Parent Education Services – Prenatal through 5 years • Home Visits • Birth to 3 Families – Receive 4+ home visits per year • Children 3-5 Years of Age – 3 home visits per year • High Needs Families – 5+ home visits per year • Literacy Based • Brain-Based and Strengths-Based • Collaboration with local social service agencies • Early Parental Partnerships with PHSD • Research

Purpose of the Program • Student and/or stakeholder needs addressed by the program • High quality parent education • Prenatal Services • Developmental Screenings for ages birth to 5 • Goals of the program • Provide families with effective parenting strategies • Identify children with developmental delays

  6. Progress Toward Previous Program Goal GOAL: The Parents as Teachers program will increase the customer satisfaction with the coordination of services from an estimated 70% to 97%. RESULTS: • Parents reported 87% customer satisfaction with service coordination between the Early Childhood Special Education, Title I and Preschool Programs. Additional Information: • 91% of parents reported the PAT program provides them with effective parenting strategies • 86% of parents reported the Group Meetings provided them with effective parenting strategies

  7. Progress Toward Previous Program Goal GOAL: The Parents as Teachers program will increase the customer satisfaction with the coordination of services from an estimated 70% to 97%. GOAL STATUS: Progress was made toward achievement of program goal. DEPLOYMENT LEVEL: Services are well deployed, although deployment may vary in some areas or schools.

Plan for Evaluation Measurable Outcomes Data Collection Methods • Parents will report satisfaction of 97% or above with parenting strategies provided by Parents as Teachers. • The Parents as Teachers program will increase the number of developmental screenings provided to children ages 3-5 during the 2009-2010 school year. • Assessments • Document reviews • Surveys and questionnaires • Interviews • Focus Groups
