When you add full to any word drop the second l! RULE 1 play+ful =playful grace + ful = graceful faith + ful = faithful
wonder + full = wonderful faith + full = faithful help + full = helpful hope + full = hopeful cheerful thoughtful painful
RULE 2 Double the final consonant when you are adding a suffix that begins with a vowel,to a word that ends with a vowel and a consonant. I don’t understand! h ho ing ng + = begin+ing=begi ing
bag + age = baggage run + ing = running skip + ed = skipped drum + er = drummer
If the accent does not fall on the last syllable,do not double the last consonant. can-cel + ed =canceled col-our + ing = colouring ben-efit + ed = benefited
RULE 3 To make most nouns plural, you just add s .However there are exceptions. Add s to make a word plural if it ends with y and the letter in front of y is a vowel (a, e, i, o, u). turk y turk s y
