3. WHO FUNDS THE TERRY SCHOLARSHIP? The Terry Foundation – founded by Howard and Nancy Terry. The Terry Foundation offices are located in Houston, TX. 3

WHAT SCHOOLS OFFER THE TERRY SCHOLARSHIP? • There are currently 11 Texas public universities that offer the Terry Scholarship. • University of Texas – Austin • Texas A&M University – College Station • University of Texas – San Antonio • Texas State University – San Marcos • University of Texas – Dallas • University of Houston • University of North Texas – Denton • Texas Tech University – Lubbock • Texas Women’s University • Sam Houston State University - Huntsville • Texas A&M University - Galveston **Each university that offers the Terry Scholarship has a different process for applying and application deadlines vary. 4

6. HOW DO YOU APPLY? Application information and application available on website (http://honors.unt.edu/freshman-terry-foundation-scholarship) How to apply: • Complete the Apply Texas Admission application. • Complete the Terry Scholarship application and return the packet with all information requested to the address provided on the application no later than February 1, 2014. • Applications submitted through the General Academic Scholarship application will be reviewed. Students who appear to meet Terry Foundation requirements will be asked to submit transcripts, letters of recommendation and detailed family income information. Important Dates: • Apply to the University of North Texas • Submit your completed Terry Scholarship and your other supporting materials • File a FAFSA on-line   • Apply for on-campus housing 6

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SUBMIT MY APPLICATION? • The University of North Texas reviews all completed Terry Scholarship applications received. • From all the applications received, only 32 students are nominated to the Terry Foundation. • The Terry Foundation schedules interviews with those 32 students. • The Terry Foundation selects up to 16 new Terry Scholars for UNT each year. • **Numbers may vary: For 2013-2014, UNT welcomed 24 new Freshman Terry Scholars. 7
