  3. Physical Science- Requirements • Junior Level Standing • Completed freshmen science and Biology • Basic understanding of Algebraic equations and manipulation

  4. Course Units • Unit 1- Chemistry • Atomic Structure, Periodic Table, Chemical Reactions • Unit 2- Motion and Stability • Newton’s Laws, Motion • Unit 3- Waves and Electromagnetic Spectrum • Electricity, Light, Magnetism • Unit 4- Earth and Space Science • Big Bang, Plate Techtonics

Grade Calculation • Weighted Scale • 10%- Summative Assessment • Final Exam • 90%- Formative Assessment • Exams, Projects, Quizzes, Homework, In class activities, Objective work • Retake Requirements- All quizzes and homework assignments are retake eligible within 2 weeks of the handback date. Once a unit is completed, retakes are no longer eligible. • Exams/Projects- will be addressed on a case by case basis. There are no guaranteed retakes for large assessments. Retakes will not be granted if homework for the unit was not completed on time.

Classroom Expectations • Students will: • Be respectful of all individuals and materials/equipment at all times. • Be responsible for their work. • Come to class prepared with required materials each day (ex. pen, notebook, appropriate clothing, etc.) • Have a positive attitude • Be an active participant in class and their learning

  7. Materials for Learning • To be brought to class each day: • Textbook • Binder to be dedicated only to Physical Science • Tabs or dividers to organize binder • Paper or loose leaf notebook for notes • Pen or Pencil • Highlighter • Computer • Hair Tie

  8. Policy for Academic Dishonesty • At no point in the class will academic dishonesty be tolerated. Students are responsible for their work; all work must be original. If a student is unclear of the expectations of an assignment or has difficulty understanding the concept, it is their responsibility to seek help from the instructor. • If a student is suspected of academic dishonesty, I will address the issue directly with the student. If the instance proves to be true the student may earn no points for the assessment, earn partial credit, or be asked to resubmit the assessment.
