  1. Create Background With Polka Dot Create Background With Polka Dot In this particular tutorial I would like to teach you the way to produce an easy design in GIMP. As an illustration I chose to take Polka Dot design that can easily be met everywhere: on towels, on the kitchen utensils, as a history etc. In case you do not have GIMP but, download it from here: GIMP Step 1 Open GIMP and generate an innovative file by going to File / New or hundred x 100px Step 2 Make an innovative Transparent Layer by visiting Layer or New or Transparency Step 3

  2. Create Guides by visiting Image or Guides or New Guide (by) that is present / Horizontal / 50% Step 4 Activate Snap to Guide by going to View or Snap to Guides and tick it. Step 5 Activate Snap to Canvas Edges by heading to View or Snap to Canvas Edges and tick it. Activating Snaps will help us with positioning of the dots. Step 6 Choose a hundred % Hardness brush and also set measurement to 30px. Step 7 Set your foreground colour to White, produce the background level invisible by clicking on the eye icon next to it and put four dots like found in Fig two. When making dots, you need to really feel the way your brash is somewhat magnetised towards the manuals and also towards the tips of the fabric. Step 8 Save the pattern of yours by heading to File or Export (note I am using GIMP 2.8) / Username or GIMP 2.8 / Patterns.Create a design title of the choice of yours and also likely to Select file type (by extension) click GIMP pattern. Now the title of your design must finish with.pat Step 9

  3. Now visit your Patterns dialog and click Refresh switch as revealed in Fig 3.If you do not have your patterns triggered, go to Windows or Dockable dialogs / Patterns. Find your Polka dot design and click it. Step 10 Make a new image by heading to File / New / thousand x thousand Using Bucket Fill add white colour to the image of yours. Step 11 With your Bucket device activated visit Tool Options and also switch from FG colour fill to Pattern fill. Check Fill entire selection is selected. Step 12 Save the background of yours by going to File or Export / Select folder or Give title to the background and select JPG from Select file type (by extension), media Export. Final note: This style is seamless, so in case you duplicate history with this place and pattern one alongside another, you are going to get an identical constant pattern.
