The Planning Process (cont.) • How your RPU plans to create innovative strategies with the P2E grant • Two prong approach • Pre-Release and Post-Release • Pre-Release training program and support service to help ex-offender earn certificates and help provide support at the family level • Create family support to ease stress of training and job search • Train offenders in the Natural Resources, Construction, Hospitality, and Advanced Manufacturing Sectors • Post-Release job coordination with support of GeoGraphic Solutions (in prison) computer lab • Help line up jobs once released from prison • Create a “Strategic Hand-Off” to other local areas and awaiting jobs • What is unique about your region? • Two state prisons with seven present of the incarcerated population • Creating professional instructional video for the incarcerated population to help navigate the job process and family support • Virtual One-Stop system within the two prisons to initiate the seamless transition from pre and post-release into sustainable employment
