Rules for Independent Work Follow the instructions and keep the deadlines Participate in the on-line conference according to the guidelines; share all the experience and help your colleagues if you know the answer for their question Before starting the work on the exercises, collect all the material (texts, pictures, etc.) and save it into ONE folder, save the exercise into THE SAME folder Create 2 exercises (each in different form): One for reading comprehension (insert a text and create questions) TOPIC: “summer courses“ One for vocabulary TOPIC: “professions and their responsibilities“ Seriously and realistically judge the level it is designed for Keep in mind that the aim and contents count more than form Try to involve your pupils not only in the assessment stage but also in the preparation stage Provide your colleagues with an attentive feedback Make notes on any positive or negative feeling during the project

Tasks for independent work (cooking) Task Timing (+deadlines) (a) Open the Hot Potatoes Home Page and try the quiz Which version should I use? ASAP (b) Download a version suitable for you on the computer you will use for your work (c) Apply for a registration key (you receive the information on the e-mail address you submit) (d) Register as a Hot Potatoes user (e) „Taste“ the potatoes, go through any tutorial in detail, visit HotPot Sites to get some inspiration 16/1 – 25/1 (f) Decide which 2 potatoes you like best and will use. Prepare the material for practicing particular skills or/and subskills (language, pictures, texts, etc.) 26/1 – 22/2 (g) Create 2 exercises (each of 10 tasks minimum), choose appropriate names for them and prepare a paragraph of promoting description 23/2 – 22/3 (h) When you are satisfied with your final products, upload them on the Web page according to the instructions on MATForum (will be provided later) 23/3 – 3/4 Peer support: MATForum tools, on-line conference: 16 January – 15May Tutor´s support: MATForum tools, direct e-mail: Sarka.Jezkova@upce.cz
Task Timing (+deadlines) (i) Each of you is obliged to test out 4 exercises by 4 different colleagues 6/4 – 26/4 (j) Provide your colleagues with feedback (k) If possible, use the exercises with your classes and evaluate the process and results (l) Adapt and change the exercises according to the comments form your colleagues.
