Why Save Historic Pimmit Barn?

Because it’s one of our community’s only historic landmarks, build circa 1940. • Because it’s the only dairy barn inside the beltway, close to our Nation’s Capitol! • Because people care about the barn – • 340+ people have signed our petition! • Because Pimmit Hills deserves a Community gathering space! Why Save Historic Pimmit Barn?

Views of the Experts • CHARLES LEIK, President of the National Barn Alliance says “we can afford to preserve our heritage.” • Virginia’s DEPARTMENT OF HISTORIC RESOURCES says: “Virginia communities are using preservation approaches to build civic pride, revitalize downtowns, spur economic development, generate tourism, and educate residents and children about their local heritage.”

3. A Piece of History J Clemons Storm, had a very large dairy barn, approx 400 acres. The entire area was primarily dairy farms as Fairfax County was the principal supplier of milk for Washington. There was a barn on the land… That was the construction site where we went to use the telephone. Everything was cut to size at the barn, and then delivered to the home site where it was nailed together.
