  2. What was happening? What was happening? Who did it affect? • In 2007 a new product was made. It was called the Power Balance. Since then the bracelet has become more and more popular, even world renown. Yet, is what the company claims the truth? Does their bracelet really work? This question has been asked since the beginning and here is what the president of the Power Balance company (Keith Kato) has to say. • “The mission of the Power Balance has always been to develop and deliver quality products that enhance peoples lives.” Yet, here’s what one writer on discoverynews.com has to say about it. • “Power Balance maker admits bands are worthless.” So whose tale is the truth?   3. Who did it affect? What was happening? Power balances aren't very cheap. They can cost up to 60 dollars! Who did it affect? This lie affected a lot of people. One example is the customers of the product, because these bracelets weren't inexpensive. They cost 60 dollars! This meant that the people who bought the bracelets and found that it didn’t work were extremely unhappy. If you wasted 60 dollars, would you be happy? It also affected a lot of professional athletes who bought the bracelets like Shaquille O'Neil, Rhyn Sheckler, and Drew Breese. This affected them because they don’t want to be supporting a fake product. This lie finally affected other companies that sell similar bracelets like Trion-Z and Irenew bracelets who actually have some scientific proof that their product works. On December 22, 2010 a Power Balance representative told Australia that the bracelet doesn't work. Since then there have been arguments back and forth about whether the bracelet really works. One customer quotes. “I can say with much certainty that the power balance is completely worthless.” Yet, here is what another consumer writes, “I just got hit by a car, but I had my power Balance on so the hit didn’t even phase me.” The big question still is does the Power Balance work? Did the company really lie? Again Keith Kato says no. He quoted, “The Power Balance has made no claims that our product doesn't perform. This is simply untrue.” Yet a representative of the Power Balance told Australia, “ We admit that there is no credible scientific evidence that supports our claims. Therefore we engaged in misleading conduct.” When they did tests in Australia, the results were clear. It seemed that the Power Balance failed to work. The tests were blind and double blind, so when the Power Balance didn’t perform the answer seemed clear. The Power Balance doesn’t seem to work. Who did it affect? When did this happen?
