Taking Control of China • In pairs, you must take on the role of Yuan Dynasty to take over China. • You have an information sheet in order to plan your strategy. • You need to produce a list of actions to take control of China. You will give a group presentation of your ideas (try to apply your knowledge of the geography and history of China to make informed decisions).
Now present your ideas to the other group on your table. • You must now give a short presentation on your strategy to take control of China. • The other group must listen and identify two good ideas and two problems with the strategy.

China • While Genghis Khan beat the Chinese Empire into submission, he did not take over control. They merely had to send tribute to their new Mongol overlords. • It was not until his Grandson, Kubila Khan, established the Yuan Dynasty that China came under the control of the Mongols.
