Area-Info.net is for Everyone • Everyone has news, events, or opinions to share with people around them. • It is easy for us to talk with people and share our opinions, but when we think about writing our thoughts on paper (or, in this case on the screen), we get brain freeze, or writers block.

  3. What is your passion? • Write about things that you love. For example: • News, • Sports, • Books, • Restaurants • Movies • Politics • Family • Gardening • Etc. Rule #1 The first rule is to write about something that you love to share with your neighbors and friends.

  4. What do you Share? • When you are telling your neighbor about the high school football game, what do you share? • What teams played? • What was the score? • Who made the touchdowns? • Who was the standout on defense? • Who was the standout on offense? • How many people were at the game? • How were the refs? • How was the weather? • When is the next game? Rule #2 Share the facts of your story like you were talking with a friend.

  5. Talk to People • Answer the questions just like you are talking to your neighbor. • Who, what, when, where, why and how? Rule #3 When you have written the answers to the questions … STOP WRITING.
