Lesson-7 Analyzing different issues in tennis Technique • Definition: Set of skills we develop in order to make our movements more efficient with the less possible effort (economizing effort). • Characteristics of attacking shots. • Characteristics of defensive shots. • Characteristics of baseline rallies shots. • Relationship between technique and other game issues.
Lesson-7 Analyzing different issues in tennis Tactics • This word comes from the military field, in connection with wars and armies. • Definition: Tactics is the art of winning the “war”, following the limits of the rules. In order to achieve this, we analyze the circumstances (court, weather conditions, etc.), examining our sources and also the opponent’s; and trying to act in the more efficient way to win the opponent. • Attack tactic • Objective: put pressure, win the point or force errors from the opponent. • Beginning in the serve return and in the baseline play • Defense tactic • Objective: try to win the point or at least go back to a balanced situation • Beginning in the return or in the baseline play • Baseline rally tactic • Objective: not only to keep the balance but also to cause situations that make attack possible • The unforced-error ghost is always latent

Those which are relevant according to percentages. • Physical condition aspects • Psychological aspects. Personality, auto-motivation capacity, temperament, anxiety control, suffering capacity, ability to control emotions (stop them or cause them) (emotional intelligence)
