The Treaty of Versailles and Wilson’s Plan • Versailles Treaty- Peace treaty signed with Central Powers to end WWI. • Woodrow Wilson- one of writers- but only one of his ideas is put in- League of Nations (ignored by other leaders). • Response to Treaty of Versailles in the U.S.-did not like it- afraid of being tied to other nations • Congress refused to sign it- U. S. makes a separate treaty with the Central Powers (Congress was mad at Wilson for not consulting them).
U. S. did not join the League of Nations either- makes League very weak • Overall- Wilson’s ideas are ignored by his own country
