Work done by Elisa Fioravanti Simulation and study of this channel for the Physic Book pp->Y(4260)->J/Y p+p- J/Y ->e+e-, m+m- • Release 0.11.4 • Detectors used: MVD, STT, EMC, DIRC, DCH, MUO • For pions: Prob identification>80% • For Electrons: Prob identification>80% • pbarMomentum: 8.6819 GeV • 20.000 events generated
Invariant mass J/Y Efficiency 49.3% Resolution 0.11 GeV Invariant J/yp+p-mass Efficiency 49.3% Resolution 0.11 GeV
J/Y p+ p-dipion invariant mass Creation of a new model for the angular distribution of the Y(4260) decay. The choice is motivated by observations from y(2S)→J/yp+p- (y(2S) and Y(4260) have the same quantum numbers) The parametrization of the dipion mass is: dG/dmppPHSP·(m2pp-lm2p)2 (m2pp-4m2pp)[M4Y+M4Y’+m4pp-2(M2Y’m2pp+ M2Y’m2pp+ + M2Y+M2Y’)] PHSP= 4M2Y’ Ref. arXiv:hep-ex/99090381 Bes Collaboration
Result obtained after the reconstruction: Simulation: l=4.0 Fit result: l=3.8 0.2
J/Y p+ p-background studies : The major background to this channel come from pp->p+p-p+p- events (two pions may be mis-identified like electrons or muons which can reconstruct one J/psi) (500.000 background events generated) Apply same selection of signal events to background events The Result is: 6 J/psi bad reconstructed The Ratio Signal/Background = 18 • To do: • Energy scan of Y(4260) • Study of channel pp->J/ Y g ; pp->cg
Work done by Elisabetta Prencipe The kalman Filter • The Kalman Filter used for the fast reconstruction is well checked and produces good results. The effects of the inhomogeneity of the B field and the material effects (multiple scattering, energy loss) were already implemented. We are only using an existing algorithm • Waiting an implementation of a Kalman Filter in the new framework (PandaROOT) with a different track representation (in GEANE), we have used this fitting procedure to reconstruct a global track in the Panda detector. We use G4 in PANDORA. • To check the goodness of this procedure we generated 10000 events of single pions and after we made a proof on the decay channel pp ->J/Yp+p−.
Test done on single pions: 1-1.6 GeV They show that the track is very well reconstructed because the pull of the 5 tracking parameters is centred in 0, and the width of the pull shape is =1
