How can ebooks be used in the classroom? • Students can access ebooks on classroom computers • Create center activities using ebooks • Supports reading initiatives
ebook access • Access Horizon Information Portal using the Start menu on school computers • From home you can access my wiki from our school’s web site • Click on the tab labeled Follett Shelf
User Name and Password • Teacher user name = the first letter of your first name followed by your last name Ex: mgerrish • Password = 589 • Student user name = teacher’s last name • Password= bears
Navigation • All titles have unlimited access which means that they can be viewed by multiple persons simultaneously • Use side bars to scroll to find books that you’re interested in • Use the left side menu to search

Cool Features Navigation • Table of contents allows you to search for pages by viewing thumbnail pics • You can either click on the pictures or type in the page number • The bookmark feature allows to mark a page for easy access • You can search for terms within the book • You can make notes in the books • You can highlight key words Search
