  4. Did you know-- • There are historically black colleges? • Moorehouse • Langston • Women’s only colleges? • Agnes Scott, Atlanta • Trinity, Washington, D.C. • Mount St. Mary’s, Los Angeles • Men’s only? • Wabash, IN • Morehouse, GA

  5. Public vs. Private Schools • “Equitable” access • Funded by state and federal governments—theoretically cheaper* • Generally more foreign languages, arts, music, etc. • Engineering! • Most move off campus after freshman year • Lecture halls *Barring scholarships, grants, etc. • Select admissions • Tend to have a better academic reputation • For profit—25% more expensive * • Specialty programs and advanced research via private grants, funding, etc. • Live on campus for majority of time • Smaller class sizes— “Meredith”—argh!

The title of the degree is not all that important. What is important about college?
