**You are welcome in the library at any time during the school day (with teacher’s permission)**The library is open from 7:45-4:00 to take AR tests or for circulation (check in/ check out)
** You may have 3 books checked out at any time. (Kdg. can have 1 and first grade can have 2.)** Your books are due when you’ve read them through. If you finish a book tonight, you may return it and get another tomorrow.**If you are still reading a book after 2 weeks, bring it back to renew it for another 2 weeks.
** When you return your books (check them INTO the library), you will scan them in yourself and put them on the correct cart: easy, fiction, or nonfiction.** To check out books (take them OUT of the library), scan your badge, scan your book’s barcodes, and be sure to click CLEAR so your name is off the screen when you leave.
New at the Hart Library • Online databases: • Kids Infobits • Texas Almanac • Student Resource Center • Online Worldbook Encyclopedia
** Use the computers (using the Online Catalog or HIP) to find books you might want to read. You can search by title, author, series, or subject.** The Online Catalog or HIP will tell you the book’s call number and whether the book is available or is checked out.
** The call number on the spine of the book tells you where to find the book in the library. E FIC 398 SEU CLE DEE In Easy section by In Fiction section by In Nonfiction section Author beginning Author beginning (always Dewey Decimal #) SEU (like SEUSS)CLE (like CLEARY) by author DEE (like DEEDY)
** Please use a shelf marker to mark the book’s place when you take it off the shelf to decide if you want to check it out. It is most important for books to stay in their proper spot.
** The library is often a busy place. Please keep your voice down so you don’t bother others.** You are always welcome to read, research, take AR tests, use the computers, and study.
