The announcer will say, “All your friends are at Jerry Jingle’s new Hamburger Haven, Why aren’t you there too?” A politician will cite a poll that shows 75 percent of the people are satisfied with her work. Bandwagon PSA • Look at the following class rules/guidelines: • Don’t talk when the teacher or another student has the floor. • Bring a water bottle to class. • Recycle your waste. • Organize your binder. • Be on time. • Don’t give out your locker combination. • Don’t draw on desks. • Don’t write in textbooks. • Create a public service announcement around one of the above rules/guidelines. PSAs, according to Wikipedia, “are intended to modify public attitudes by raising awareness about specific issues. The most common topics of PSAs are health and safety.” You may have seen PSAs on TV, billboards, or in magazines aimed at informing the public about an issue, such as smoking, bullying, or texting while driving. • In your comp. book, create a PSA mini-poster that uses the bandwagon technique regarding one of the above.
